Most people assume fire safety is purely reactive — something you think about after a problem surfaces. I spent years watching that assumption quietly cause trouble, and it's what pushed me to start writing about it differently.

Analyst by instinct, writer by habit

My mornings usually start the same way: a fresh notebook open next to a stack of technical reports. I pull apart the data first, then ask myself how to explain what I found to someone who's never read a compliance document in their life — and to someone who's read hundreds. That tension between rigour and clarity is where most of my work lives.

Hands-on site walkthroughs, equipment testing, and conversations with both seasoned fire protection engineers and first-time building managers all feed directly into what I write. Nothing sharpens an explanation faster than standing in a space and seeing where the theory breaks down.
